Studio tips

Is this the same as adding a decorative grid?+
No. The page is built for proportion transfer. It adds measured rows, columns, labels, diagonals, paper size, and print guidance so the grid can be recreated on paper or canvas.
Do my images upload to GridMaker?+
No. The image is read and rendered in your browser. The server does not need the file to create the preview, PNG, or printable image document.
Why are labels outside the image?+
Outer labels keep the artwork cleaner. You can still reference cell names, but the labels do not cover eyes, edges, small objects, or details you are trying to copy.
Can I use a canvas size instead of A4 or Letter?+
Yes. Choose custom paper, enter width and height in millimeters, and GridMaker recalculates drawable area and cell spacing from those dimensions.
When should I enable diagonals?+
Use diagonals when angles matter: head tilt, perspective edges, hands, folds, product silhouettes, or architectural lines. They give every cell a clearer directional reference.
What should I print?+
Use Print / PDF when you need an image-only sheet. Use PNG when you want a reusable digital file for annotation, sharing, or importing into another app.
